The BLOCs are a series of pop-up installations designed to initiate the transformation underutilized shopping mall in downtown Los Angeles into its new identity, as the BLOC. One of the installations is seen here in use during the CicLAvia festival.
The BLOCs are a set of three identical mirrored cubes which are fully mobile and can be transported on a flat bed truck. Each cube, when it arrives at its destination opens up in a different way to perform a different function.
The 'Touch' BLOC opens up fully to create a pop-up retail experience that the public can inhabit.
Here it is seen hosting the Flying Pigeon bicycle store during CicLAvia.

The 'Taste' BLOC is a mobile food and beverage experience.
Here it is seen in front of the BLOC serving shaved ice from Lono's Sweet Shop,
and coffee from Cognoscenti Coffee.
The 'Sound' Bloc has an operable roof which opens up to reveal a dj to provide a musical component to the pop-up experience.
